古くよりお寺などの障壁画として金箔紙や和紙などを施してきた表具技術の一つです。現代では和紙や織物などで壁や天井を装飾するインテリア、室内装飾全般に発展しました。
Hekiso
This is a mounting technique that has been used in Japanese temples since ancient times. It involves decoration a surface with the application of gold leaf and traditional Japanese paper such as shohekiga.
In modern times, it has evolved into a form of interior decoration in which walls and ceilings are decorated with fine Japanese paper and textiles.
